Not perfect, but pretty cute.
In a collaboration with Olla Homeware by Jade Sims, these pieces have been carefully curated, but unfortunately the firing process has not been kind. Each piece has been carefully crafted, fired, and decorated for a unique drinking vessel that will last for years and years to come. We first worked together when we were at the Cardiff School of Art and Design together, and these latest pieces marry together Jade’s skilful ceramics with my illustrations.
This little bowl has a lovely shape with a creamy speckled nutmeg glaze on the top, silhouettes of winter trees on the inside, and a contemporary strong black glaze on the bottom, with tiny hints of green. The texture is particularly lovely, and the sturdy shape makes it a lovely tactile addition to any kitchen or office. Unfortunately, a small amount of the ceramic has burst through the exterior. As they were made by a real lovely human, Jade, each ornament is unique and so the pattern and colour on each is subtly different, and the shape is organic, having been crafted by human hands. Because of how special this item is, it will need handwashing.
